BlackBerry 10 Receives Federal Information Processing Standard Early

This latest development released by Research In Motion (RIM) through Marketwire will indeed give additional boost to the launching of the most awaited smartphone superphone BlackBerry 10.

In the press release, it was stated that receiving a security certification from FIPS this early "is quite remarkable and a testament to the dedication of our security team," said David MacFarlane, Director, Security Certifications at RIM.

To us BlackBerry users, this gives us more confidence of this one of the top brasses in the field of communication. RIM BlackBerry has been the leader in terms of security that no other mobile solution has achieved this kind of standard.

"Achieving FIPS 140-2 certification means that BlackBerry 10 is ready to meet the strict security requirements of government agencies and enterprises at launch," said Michael K. Brown, Vice President, Security Product Management and Research at RIM.

Most of our financial transactions nowadays can be done thru phone. Paying credit cards, purchasing an item from an online store, sending money abroad among others; without this kind of security standard, your life will be a mess.

Personally, I foresee a record breaking sales of BB 10 on its release early next year. I should be one of those who'll join a long queue just to get the first and fresh BB 10. :)
