This Is My BlackBerry Passport Review

BlackBerry Passport Influence

BlackBerry Passport was launched last year but only now I got to hold mine. This was after seeing the video of JC the hater. We both hate the phone and that's why we are having it. :) We now have something to abuse.

It's been almost a month since I started hammering this big-faced phone but surprisingly, it seems everything works great so far. With that, I hate passport now even more. Why? Because behind all those hate remarks I've made, we are now starting to create a bond. A bond that made me dump my granny BlackBerry Bold which has kept my hands busy for several years. Although the ever jealous Z10 is still very enthusiastic each and every day.

I'm sure you have read or heard all the great reviews of the Passport already so let me just bring you some things which I think were never mentioned by others yet.

They've already told you how efficient the battery power is, how fast the OS is, how very dynamic the browsing or the overall UI experience is, how improved the application choices are, how they [BlackBerry] were able to keep it as the most secured phone in the market, so on and so forth.

Below are my takes:

Square Screen
Its square screen makes my YouTube viewing very convenient. I don't have to rotate my phone to get that ideal wideness of the video. One thing about watching YouTube videos on a BlackBerry is that, you won't see any banner ads popping out on the screen. No intrusions in between. :)

Because it is square, my Instagram posting is now quite smooth. I'll just click, filter and post. Cropping is useless as the default ratio/dimension is now 1:1. It would be odd to have a ratio/dimension of 16:9 with this, unlike with the Zs.

Safety
Now, aside from the outstanding security this phone has, it also gives us safety. How? Okay, imagine using it while driving, it's upsetting because of its size, right? So with that, you won't be tempted to use it while your hands are on the driving wheel. LOL!

Attention Grabber
Every time I pulled it from my pocket, people always have to give the phone that jealous second look. Passport to women is like the shirt-less David Beckham who have just sprayed one can of Axe cologne. And to men, Passport is like Angelina Jolie on her sexy and fitting long black dress. It actually depends who's holding it but I just hate it, when people do that.

Wait, did I tell that I wrote this post entirely using my Passport while I was inside my car waiting for my wife to come out from her office?

And also, I want to mention how effective the ear buds are that come along with this. There's that weird small rubbery extension attached to it which gives a total grip when inserted to your ear. Falling ear buds while moving is not happening for this one.

Nuff said. That is why I hate BlackBerry Passport.

Just to share with you what my brother has told me, who is also a BlackBerry hater himself, is this:

BlackBerry is not for the masses, BlackBerry is made for smart professional like you and me. We are not student anymore who wants to have the latest game apps - Haime said.
Yes, Apple's iPhone and Samsung are mainstream, we are just simply the choosy few - he added.
